History[]
Paragon was originally a male hero who got his start in the 1980s. He was quite popular, though far less so than The Praetorian, and he openly sold his image to various ad campaigns and merchandising opportunities for profit. He was reportedly killed in 2011 under mysterious circumstances, though in reality he was arrested for conspiracy, quietly given a private trial, and now resides in The Citadel as a permanent guest. His true identity has never been revealed.
In the wake of the original Paragon's death, another took up his mantle. This time it was Clarissa Collins, who had not been able to join the military because of her status as a "super." She jumped at the chance to serve her country, taking up the mantle of Paragon. She has chosen to give any proceeds from merchandising to the US government as voluntary tax revenue, and she lives only on her government salary, working as an agent of the Department of Defense.
